French Kid Beats 500,000 To Claim World FIFA Title

Madden is…serious, kinda, but EA Sports’ other tentpole sports game, FIFA, is really serious. Take rummy 51 the game’s “World Cup”, which saw an amazing 500,000 gamers enter for $20,000 cash rummy best and a new car.

Yup. 500,000. Emerging victorious at the top of that mountain of broken dreams was 22 year-old Frenchman Bruce Grannec, who beat Mexico’s rummy golds Ruben Zerecero 3-1 in the final to claim the crown.

He won the title on Sunday in sunny Barcelona, at the end of a tournament featuring 31 other finalists from the half a million qualifiers. For the record, all games were played on PS3.
