Currently, EA help with distribution for MTV’s Rock Band. But could they be planning their own entry in the overcrowded music game genre? Comments made by the company today certainly seem to suggest it.

During his presentation at the Goldman Sachs Technology and Internet Conference earlier today, EA’s Chief Operating Officer Yono all app John Pleasants said:

When we look back five years, the fantasy of being a rock star by punching the buttons that are flowing down the screen is all yono app going to be one implementation in what is going to be a very large category.

There are lots of other things you can do with music, and we’re working on interesting things, and we know our competition is working on interesting things.

“We”? Like, EA, you mean? “We’re not in any position to announce anything,” Pleasants added. “I think it’s a robust category. Over the coming years, there will hopefully be lots of things we will do in go rummy the music category.”

Some games take a while to load on mobile, but once they start, the gameplay is smooth and exciting. I hope future updates improve mobile performance, but I still enjoy playing several hours a day.
